Betting Odds Take Sudden Shift Before USA vs. Serbia Tipoff

The United States men's basketball team is a strong favorite heading into Thursday's Olympic semifinal matchup against Serbia.

That being said, the betting odds took a sudden shift just before tipoff of this highly-anticipated matchup.

Team USA opened as a 17.5-point favorite over Nikola Jokic and the Serbians. But with 52.3% of the betting money on Serbia, the line has since dropped to -15.5 on Fanatics Sportsbook.

The most popular player prop bet for Thursday's game is under 13.5 points for USA guard Anthony Edwards, according to sports betting reporter Sam McQuillan.

USA Basketball is undefeated so far in their 2024 Paris Olympics campaign. Serbia's only loss so far came at the hands of Team USA in Group C qualifying. Led by stellar performances from LeBron James and Kevin Durant, the United States won that group stage game with a dominant 110-84 score.

Thursday's semifinal game will tipoff at 3:00 p.m. ET.

The winner of this semifinal will face off against host-country France in the gold medal game. Victor Wembanyama and the French team beat Germany in their semifinal contest on Thursday morning.
