United States swimmer Katie Ledecky came into the Paris Olympics as an established star in the international games. The Washington, D.C. native is currently competing in her fourth Olympic Games, and with that extensive resume comes great honor and respect for Ledecky.

Ledecky was recently announced as the flag bearer for the Closing Ceremony at the Paris Olympics, where she will be joined by rower Nick Mead.

Her teammate, Bobby Finke, was the voice that delivered the news to Ledecky.

Finke facetimed Ledecky to share the news of the prestigious honor, and Ledecky broke down in tears.

The women's swimming star was walking through the streets of Paris, by the Seine River, just before time stopped, and she was called to help lead the United States in the Closing Ceremony.

"I'm here at open water, and you're making me cry," Ledecky told Finke.

Katie Ledecky then turned to the camera and shared her appreciation for Team USA.

"Thank you, Team USA," Ledecky said. "This is a huge honor. Can't wait for Closing Ceremony. It's been an honor representing our country here in Paris, and so proud to be a part of this team."

Ledecky is one of the greatest swimmers in the history of the Olympics, heading into the Paris Games with 10 Olympic medals, seven of which were gold.

She's the most decorated U.S. female Olympian in the history of the international games, adding four medals to her list of accolades in Paris.

During the Paris Games, Ledecky won two gold medals, one in the 1500-meter freestyle and the other in the 800-meter freestyle swim. She also earned a silver medal in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the 400-meter freestyle.

Katie Ledecky will have a chance to show off her new jewelry at the Closing Ceremony when she leads the United States as the country's flag bearer alongside Nick Mead.
