Serbia had a big lead over Team USA and looked to be on their way to the gold medal game. At halftime, Nikola Jokic and Serbia were up 54-43.

Going into the fourth quarter, Serbia had a 13-point lead and they were just 10 minutes away from a massive upset. But, things changed quickly, and Team USA got the 95-91 win.

It was a brutal collapse for Serbia as they will now try to capture the bronze medal against Germany. After the game, fans quickly criticized Serbia's coach Svetislav Petic for blowing the lead and making some costly mistakes down the stretch.

Giving up a lead that big sure brings a lot of things into question.

Fans called out the Serbian coach after the game on social media.

"Hey guys .. Serbia is absolute fools for letting that clock go down and then fouling lmao…did the coach just panic ?" one fan wrote on X.

A fan commented on that post, saying, "Exactly. If you’re not gonna foul early then you have to rely on your team to get a stop."

In the final minute, Serbia took a long time to intentionally foul, milking precious seconds off before ultimately sending Stephen Curry to the line.

With the game still close at that point, fans were confused as to why Petic didn't tell his team to foul earlier in the clock.

"and then foul the best ft shooter in the world lol" a fan wrote on X.

"Wow inexcusable clock management from Serbia," Tmmy Beer wrote on X.

"That was college basketball level (non bill self division) clock management from Serbia at the end there," another fan wrote.

"Insane end game clock management from Serbia," another one wrote.

Some even mentioned the Mario Cristobal-like clock management.

All in all, it was an unfortunate collapse by Serbia. Instead of preparing to go for the good medal, Serbia will now face Germany in hopes of getting the bronze.
