Ja Morant's Five-Word Admission About Stephen Curry's Onslaught In Win Vs. Serbia

There's no record of actual animus between Stephen Curry and Ja Morant.

But the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies have emerged as one of the NBA's best rivalries in recent years, pitting their superstar point guards against each other for high drama on the floor as well as in the minds of both teams' followers.

As Morant watched his Warriors counterpart spearhead Team USA's thrilling 95-91 comeback win over Serbia in the Olympic semifinals, though, he couldn't help but morph into a fan.

While a scorching-hot Curry received a breather in the second half on Thursday, Morant voiced amused disapproval of coach Steve Kerr's decision to sub him out of the game.

Making a clear and concerted effort to put weeks-long struggles with Team USA in the rearview mirror, Curry came out firing against Serbia, exploding for 14 of the United States' first 15 points while finally finding his rhythm from beyond the arc.

He came up huge when the Americans needed him most late, too, cashing a go-ahead three from LeBron James with 2:24 left in the fourth quarter while scoring seven of the Americans' last 11 points.

The four-time NBA champion finished with a game-high 36 points and eight rebounds, draining a new Olympic record of nine triples.

There will be ample time for Morant to defy Curry once the 2024-25 NBA season tips off. For now, the Grizzlies' franchise player can relish the chance to cheer for he and Team USA one more time during Saturday's gold-medal matchup with France.
