What Grade Do Knicks' Big Moves Get?

    By Jonah Morgan,

The New York Knicks have made some of the biggest moves of the offseason, as they not only traded for a star, but they also re-signed a few of the stars they already had.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Zack Buckley , he grades the big moves that the Knicks have made so far this offseason. The first move he grades is the team trading for Mikal Bridges, and he gives it a 'B.'

The reason why some points could be deducted from this deal is the fact that the Knicks gave up so much. They traded away a whopping five first-round picks, but they are counting on Bridges being able to make an impact immediately. The next grade the Knicks get is a 'B-' for them re-signing OG Anunoby.

The defensive-minded wing will make $212.5 million over the next five years with New York. That is a very big number for a player who is the third or fourth option on the offensive end, but the Knicks think his defense more than makes up for that fact. The final big move the team made was re-signing Jalen Brunson, and that gets an 'A+.'

Not only were the Knicks able to lock up their star point guard for the next four years, but they did so while saving money. His $156.5 million deal is worth $100 million less than he would have made if he had signed after this season. As a result, the Knicks will be able to make more moves with that extra money, and they have Brunson to thank.

The Knicks are going all in on winning the championship and contending with the likes of the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference. If they are able to do that, it will be hard to argue against the value of the moves the team has made this offseason.
