Steph Curry Makes Incredible Team USA History vs. Serbia

Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry has been relatively quiet throughout Team USA's stint in the 2024 Paris Olympics -- at least by his elite standards.

This all changed on Thursday night after the former NBA back-to-back MVP turned in a sensational performance to lead the national team to a 95-91 victory over Serbia in the semi-final.

The fans were finally treated to a vintage Steph Curry outing in this one as the four-time NBA champ dropped an Olympic career-high 36 points on 12-of-19 shooting, to go along with eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal in a team-high 33 minutes of action. The Warriors star also knocked down nine triples on the evening to secure a berth for Team USA in the final on Saturday against home team France.

Curry's majestic performance prompted a straightforward yet powerful statement from Team USA.

As the above tweet indicated, Curry has now set an American Olympic record in what is only his first appearance in the Summer Games.

This feat becomes even more incredible if you take into account all the great players and Hall of Famers who have come before Curry. Not even the GOATs like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, or Kevin Durant were able to achieve this historic feat.

Curry will now want to keep his foot on the gas for Saturday's clash against Victor Wembanyama and the French national squad as the greatest shooter of all time looks to add an Olympic gold medal to his trophy cabinet.
