Kevin Durant Slams 'Lame' Nuggets Fans Rooting Against Team USA

Apparently, Team USA star Kevin Durant still had plenty of energy for a fight after a heart-stopping 95-91 win against Serbia on Thursday.

The former NBA Most Valuable Player hopped on social media after the Serbia game and got into a spat with Denver Nuggets fans, who were seemingly much more impressed by Serbia nearly taking down Team USA than by the Americans’ come-from-behind victory.

One fan accused Durant of hating on Jokic for being a brilliant basketball player both in the NBA and at the Olympics, thus triggering a fiery clapback from the Phoenix Suns superstar.

“To all you nuggets fans, nobody gives a f**k who yall lames believe is the best player in the league,” Durant wrote. “Players got major respect for Jok [Nikola Jokic], we don’t worship him like yall do but most are in awe of his brilliance. Trolling you cornballs for rooting against us is apart of the game. Deal wit it.”

Jokic was indeed a big thorn in the side of Team USA in the semifinal game, as the three-time NBA MVP had 17 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds, but his production was not enough to tow Serbia into a win.

The Americans proved to be too much for Serbia, with Steph Curry and LeBron James teaming up to take down Jokic’s squad. Curry went off for 36 points while James manufactured 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. As for Durant, he chipped in nine points off the bench.
