Bogdan Bogdanovic Breaks His Silence Amid Fierce Carmelo Anthony Backlash

Team USA survived a semifinal scare on Thursday, storming back from 17 points down to notch a thrilling victory over Serbia.

While the Serbian squad revolves around three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic, veteran guard Bogdan Bogdanovic was crucial in their near-upset performance. Bogdanovic led the way for the Serbians with 20 points, including three big-time shots from behind the three-point arc.

After draining these threes, Bogdanovic looked straight over at Team USA basketball legend Carmelo Anthony and taunted him with his signature three-point celebration.

These actions resulted in some fierce backlash from American fans. On Friday morning, the Serbian guard took to social media to break his silence on the matter.

Bogdanovic posted an Instagram comment from Anthony that said "RESPEC7."

Bogdanovic and Serbia led by 13 points heading into the fourth quarter. But thanks to some late-game heroics from LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, Team USA came out on top with a 95-91 final score.

LeBron finished the game with a 16-point, 12-rebound, 10-assist triple-double. Curry dropped 36 points, finishing just one point shy of Anthony's all-time Team USA Olympic scoring record.

Team USA will face off against Victor Wembanyama and host-country France for an Olympic championship on Saturday. Bogdanovic and Serbia will take on Germany in the bronze medal game.
