Former Texas standout wide receiver Xavier Worthy seems to be adjusting well to the NFL. Aside from a video of the slight 172 lb receiver being manhandled at the line by press coverage, social media has been abuzz with Worthy’s highlights from Chiefs camp.

Now, future hall of famer Patrick Mahomes, Worthy’s quarterback, has chimed in on the speedster’s development. Here’s what he told Arrowhead Pride Editor-and-Chief Pete Sweeney:

"He does a great job. He's fast, but it's almost like he can run fast, but he can run with pace, fast. He's able to track the ball really well, he runs a lot of great routes, and he's going to get as physical as any camp here. He's doing a great job, trying to fight off press as best he can, getting through there, making plays happen. And so he'll keep getting better and better. If he can get through this camp, he'll be able to get through a lot of stuff. I'm excited for him and how he's progressed throughout camp."

Fans can get their first potential look at Mahomes, Worthy, Travis Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs offense in the team’s first preseason game on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kansas City will begin the regular season on Sept. 5 at home against the Baltimore Ravens.
