It was a remarkable moment for the U.S. women's track and field team to nab gold in the 4x100m relay final.

Gabby Thomas, alongside Sha'Carri Richardson as well as Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry, formed the star-studded relay team as they coasted to a first-place finish that aw them reach the finish line in 41.78 seconds.

Great Britain secured second place with a time of 41.85, and Germany achieved a season-best time of 41.97 for third place.

Thomas delivered a strong third leg, although she was in third place when passing the baton to Richardson. Richardson executed an outstanding final leg, clinching the victory amidst the rain.

"Obviously passing the baton to Sha'Carri is very special. She is so fast, you know we're in good hands when she gets her hand on the baton," Thomas said. "I felt very proud, and I was grateful to compete with these ladies, and we got the gold."

Following the race, Thomas took to social media to express her feelings about helping the relay team emerge victorious and secure gold in the race. Here is her reaction.

"WEEEEE DID ITTTT!!!" she said on X.

The U.S. women's team excelled on the track, flawlessly completing their trials en route to an Olympic gold medal.

This gold medal marks Thomas' second at these Olympics, following her victory in the 200 meters on Aug. 6. It is also Richardson's first gold, complementing her silver medal in the 10 meters on Aug. 3.
