Another game, another blowout win for Brittney Griner and Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The United States women’s basketball squad is a win away from capturing another Olympic gold after demolishing Lauren Jackson and Australia on Friday, 85-64.

The Americans are making success in Paris look easy, as they have been beating teams by double digits. The closest call they experienced so far was during an 87-74 win against Belgium in group play. All things considered, it’s been smooth sailing for Team USA, which is averaging 89.8 points per game and shooting 50.4 percent from the field.

The final scores don’t do a great job of demonstrating the degree of competition at the Olympics, though, according to Griner.

"A lot of people look at the games and they look at the scores and they think it is not hard for us, but it is,” Griner said after the Australia game, per FIBA’s official website .

“We are getting everybody's best shot," added Griner, who scored five points with four rebounds in 19 minutes of floor duty against Australia. "It's just when we are locked in like this, we're really good and we're really efficient. [Winning gold] That would be a really special moment for me and for my family. It's a moment that I hope we get."

With a deep bench, incredible size, and an enviable level of talent from top to bottom of the roster, Team USA has always been expected to dominate the competition in Paris.

In the finals this coming Sunday, Team USA will square off versus France, which beat Belgium in the semifinals, 81-75.
