Serbia President Accuses Olympics Of Preferential Treatment After Team USA Win

The Serbia-United States Olympic men's basketball semifinal was one to remember. Well, maybe a little forgettable for Serbia. After trailing by 17 points at one point, Team USA came back in the fourth quarter to clinch a spot in the gold medal game.

However, many Serbian fans were not pleased about how the game was officiated. That includes the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. Posting from the official X account, Vucic harshly called out the officials in his post.

Vucic posted a video of Joel Embiid getting away with a blatant traveling violation. He captioned that video by saying, "In which country are these not steps?"

"P.S. Next time, tell us in advance who we can't beat," Vucic added, implying that he believes that the game was rigged in favor of Team USA.

Serbia jumped out to a massive first-half lead thanks to Bogdan Bogdanovic's hot shooting and Nikola Jokic's passing. After being dominated in their last two matchups, Serbia led Team USA by 13 points heading into the final frame.

However, that's when Team USA turned it up a notch. Relying mostly on Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Embiid, the American squad locked down Serbia's main weapons in the last quarter. The result was one of the greatest comebacks in Olympic history, just behind Serbia's comeback in the quarterfinals over Australia a few days ago.

Serbia's quest for a medal did not end in the loss to Team USA. They will play Germany in the bronze medal game tomorrow.
