Team USA will be rolling out a new starting lineup for the gold medal matchup against home-country France on Saturday.

Head coach Steve Kerr is inserting Kevin Durant into the starting lineup, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday, who got the start against Serbia in the semifinals, will come off the bench.

Fans have been begging for Durant to enter the starting lineup since his show-stopping return from injury in Team USA's first game of group play. Now for the Olympic championship game, these fans have been answered.

Team USA's starting lineup now features Durant, Steph Curry, LeBron James, Devin Booker and Joel Embiid.

"Curry Bron KD starting we won," one fan wrote.

"Took kerr 6 games to realize," another said.

    "Long overdue," another added.

Though Durant didn't get the start for Team USA's semifinal against Serbia, he finished strong in the comeback win. The Phoenix Suns superstar drained a crucial contested midrange in the waning minutes, helping the United States to a 95-91 victory.

Kerr's lineup decisions have been a frequent topic of discussion throughout this year's Olympic run. Most notably, the Golden State Warriors coach is taking heat for not playing Celtics forward Jayson Tatum.

Durant is the all-time leading scorer in American Olympic basketball history. While it's impossible to please everyone, it appears having him in the starting lineup is a popular move.

Saturday's championship game against Victor Wembanyama and France will tipoff at 3:30 p.m. ET.
