Breanna Stewart and Team USA booked a ticket to the finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics women’s basketball tournament after taking down Australia on Friday, 84-65.

The Americans have looked every bit the favorite to win the gold medal in the Summer Games, but all the success they’ve had so far in Paris would not matter if they failed to finish the job they set out for.

“It’s gold or bust,” Stewart said following the win against Australia, per Hannah Vanbiber of The Athletic .

While other squads can consider winning a game in group play or merely reaching the knockout stages a big success, it is a much simpler equation for Team USA: Did they win gold or not?

Stewart, who has won two Olympic gold medals, had a solid effort in the Australia game, scoring 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the field and grabbing six rebounds to go with five assists. She will have to be as effective on Sunday when Team USA battles host France in the finals.

The Americans are favored by around 15.5 points versus France. For what it’s worth. Team USA has an average scoring margin of 18.6 points in Paris.
