Shohei Ohtani Crushes NL Leading 35th Home Run On The Season

When Shohei Ohtani hits home runs, he usually crushes them a long way. Friday night's two-run home run in the third inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates was no different. Ohtani, now leads the National League in homes runs, with 35.

The superlatives surrounding Ohtani never seem to get old. He's currently working his way back to being a two-way player in 2025, as he approaches the rarified 40-40 club (40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in the same season). However, the way Ohtani seemingly launches baseballs into orbit is always a thing to behold, no matter how many times you see it:

This blast traveled 448 feet with an exit velocity of 113.9 m.p.h. These numbers are monstrous, but they continue to be a common occurrence for Ohtani. This 448-foot blast is Ohtani's 11th home run to travel more than 440 feet. That leads the league, with NY Yankee slugger, Aaron Judge (who leads the league in home runs) with the second most 440+ feet home runs (8).
