Paul George Questions Team USA Olympic Benching of Jayson Tatum: Indiana Tracker

AUG 10 Jayson Tatum at the Olympics? He's been in and out for Team USA ... and Pacers ex Paul George doesn't get it.

“You gotta sacrifice [for Team USA] to win these games,” Trae Young said to George on George's podcast.

“But (Tatum) can’t be one of them,” George replied. ... “How is JT the odd man out?”

Will Tatum be "out'' again in the gold medal game today? It's U.S.A. vs. France on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.

AUG 10 YANKEE! Fever star Caitlin Clark is enjoying her Olympic break, with some boyfriend vacationing here and some concert-going there and some Indiana practice mixed in as well.

This weekend, though? She's in the Big Apple and part of that vacationing is about baseball.

Clark was seen on Saturday at Yankee Stadium, and somewhere during the Yankees' doubleheader against the Texas Rangers, Clark got a chance to hang out with New York star Aaron Judge.

AUG. 9 BOSTON CAN'T RE-SIGN EVERYONE The Utah Jazz needed to reach the salary floor, as they needed to spend 93 percent of its salary cap space due to CBA rules. When the Jazz signed Lauri Markkanen to a contract extension worth $228 million, Danny Ainge still had room to sign one or two more players.

The Boston Celtics, on the other hand, can't pay everyone, as the 2024 NBA champions extended Jayson Tatum to the highest in league history. Aside from Tatum, Boston signed four other players to contract extensions. It was only time before the Celtics lost a player in free agency. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski , the Jazz signed former Celtics Svi Mykhailiuk to a four-year, $15 million deal.

AUG. 7 GORDON HAYWARD A 'BELIEBER'? Gordon Hayward went on Meadowlark's Dan Le Batard Show to discuss retirement and a new movie via his production company Whiskey Creek. Le Batard's interviewing style allowed Hayward to ease into sharing extra stories from his playing career.

One of the stories included Los Angeles Lakers ' Ron Artest roasting Hayward for his appearance, which invoked a certain young celebrity's name.

AUG 6 HE DID IT Kevin Durant is already the highest scorer in men's Team USA history. However, Durant wasn't finished. Durant passed both men's and women's Team USA for the most points in Olympic history. Lisa Leslie, the previous record holder, prematurely congratulated Durant on the feat before Team USA's contest vs. Brazil.

Durant finished with 11 points against Brazil and 489 in his decorated Olympic career.

Durant's Team USA teammate Devin Booker commented on the record-breaking performance. "That's Captain America status...now we have to get him his 4th gold."

Team USA plays Serbia on Aug. 8 at 3 PM Eastern Time.
