Team USA brings home the gold! In a thrilling gold medal game against Brazil, the US Women's Soccer team took a late 1-0 lead and held on to it for dear life. With that win, the USWNT wins gold for the first time since the 2012 London Olympics.

After the game, another gold medal contender congratulated the USWNT on their stunning win. LeBron James, the captain of the US men's basketball team, posted his reaction to the win on X.

James took a simple approach to his reaction, simply saying, "🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🥇!! CONGRATS LADIES 🇺🇸."

Like with most of their games, the USWNT's gold-clinching game was a defensive slugfest. They endured Brazil's relentless attack in the first half, with goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher making save after save. That defense has served them well in the Olympics, not allowing a single goal in the knockout stage.

And then, they struck. In the 57th minute, Korbin Albert found Mallory Swanson on a beautiful through-ball. Swanson dribbled up the field into a one-on-one with the keeper. The striker would not be denied, shooting it past Lorena for the goal.

From there, the USWNT clung to that lead like their lives depended on it. Multiple clutch saves from Naeher allowed the Americans to survive the grueling ten-minute extra time to win their fifth gold medal and first since 2012, when they beat Japan 2-1.

As for LeBron, the NBA legend looks to give the USA another gold medal in the men's basketball final. They're up against the home team France in what is expected to be a barnburner.
