Jordan Chiles' Sister Shares Strong Response to Voided Bronze Medal

The last five days have been brutal for the Chiles' family, especially Jordan Chiles.

With the worst happening as her bronze medal was officially voided after the latest ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Saturday, her sister Jazmin had strong words to share on social media.

Jazmin posted a story on Instagram to reveal that Jordan was stripped of her medal, not because of her performance but because of the judges' incompetence.

“Racism is real, it exists, it is alive and well. They have officially stripped her of her ,” Jazmin said.

"Not because she didn't win, not because she was drugged, not because she stepped out of bounds. Not because she wasn't good enough. But because the judges failed to give her difficulty and forced an inquiry to be made.

Jazmin said Jordan was stripped of her medal over four seconds that wouldn't have happened if the judges did their job.

"I love you baby sis. And I got yo back no matter what," she concluded her statement.

Following the ruling, Jordan posted an Instagram story with four broken heart emojis.

“I am taking this time and removing myself from social media for my mental health thank you,” she wrote in a subsequent story.

Putting together a statement, USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee said they were "devastated" by the CAS ruling.

"The inquiry into the Difficulty Value of Jordan Chiles’ floor exercise routine was filed in good faith and, we believed, in accordance with FIG rules to ensure accurate scoring," the statement said.

"Throughout the appeal process, Jordan has been subject to consistent, utterly baseless and extremely hurtful attacks on social media. No athlete should be subject to such treatment. We condemn the attacks and those who engage, support or instigate them. We commend Jordan for conducting herself with integrity both on and off the competition floor, and we continue to stand by and support her."
