Chicago Bears rookie Caleb Williams is turning heads in his preseason debut at quarterback. His play has caught the attention of one former NFL signal caller.

Former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III was impressed by Williams' playmaking ability in one highlight throw against the Buffalo Bills. He provided his analysis on social media.

"This throw by Caleb Williams is more difficult than it seems and shows why he is a special talent above and below his shoulders. Great ballsmanship on the fake, pump fake freezes the defender and buys time, then throws a 40 yard frozen rope without getting downhill to his target."

While Williams isn't a finished product, he has displayed promising traits that could allow for immediate success in Chicago.

The Bears haven't had much success at signal caller of late. Famously, Chicago is yet to have had a 4,000-yard passing season at quarterback. They're hoping Williams can break that trend.

Those who watched the rookie quarterback in college were aware of his arm strength, but Griffin highlights another aspect of his game. Williams' utilization of a pump fake displays an early grasp of how to manipulate defensive players before making a passing attempt.

The rookie quarterback will make his regular season debut against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 8.
