Iconic Photo of Steph Curry’s Shot Over Victor Wembanyama Is Going Viral

The legends of today met the future of basketball in the gold medal game of the Olympics. Steph Curry and Team USA faced off against Victor Wembanyama and France in the final game of the men's basketball tournament. In the end, it was Curry's heroics that gave the USA the gold over Wemby.

There were many iconic moments during the game, from Guerschon Yabusele's poster to Steph's final shot in the fourth quarter. However, one picture stands out as a generational shot, and it of course involves Wemby.

The photo shows Curry shooting a three-pointer over Wembanyama's outstretched arms. It's an insane picture that encapsulates what makes these two so special.

And yes, Curry did make that shot over Wembanyama. That was one of the eight triples that buried France's hopes of revenge after their loss in Tokyo. Curry would finish the game with 24 points, all of which came from beyond the arc.

Wembanyama can hold his head high despite the loss. The French star finished with 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field along with seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal. He proved that he's able to perform at the highest level when he needs to.

Team USA will take home their fifth straight gold medal, continuing their dominant streak since 2008. As for Curry, he adds this Olympic gold medal to his trophy cabinet, which includes two golds from the FIBA World Championships in 2010 and 2014.
