USA Basketball Sends Strong Six-Word Message To LeBron James After Historic Feat

Team USA ended its iconic Paris Olympics run on Saturday with a 98-87 win against Victor Wembanyama and France as the Americans bagged the gold medal for a record 17th time.

Unsurprisingly, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James turned in another strong performance in the final, logging a 14-point, 10-assist double-double, with six rebounds, two steals, a block and one triple in 32 minutes of action.

This was enough to earn LeBron the Olympic MVP title , which he will bring home along with his third gold medal from the Summer Games. James also won gold during the 2008 and 2012 Games.

LeBron's latest feat has drawn all sorts of high praise for the NBA's all-time leading scorer. For their part, USA Basketball made sure to send a strong message to James after this iconic achievement.

"An award fit for a King. 👑" USAB wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The Lakers talisman ends his tournament with averages of 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game. More importantly, though, he stood tall as the squad's leader both on and off the court, which is no easy feat playing alongside some of the biggest superstars in the game today.

James has now further added to his legacy as the 39-year-old continues to build on his claim for the GOAT title.
