White Sox Manager Drops Murky Yoan Moncada Injury Update

    By Quinn Allen,

It's been a nightmare season for the Chicago White Sox, who have the worst record in the big leagues. The campaign started in a terrible way when Yoan Moncada suffered an abductor injury in early April, and he's yet to return.

The Cuban began a rehab assignment recently but he's still feeling discomfort in his left side and lingering soreness. Given how bad this team is, it does feel pointless to rush him back.

On Saturday, interim manager Grady Sizemore gave an update on Moncada and made it clear he has no clue when the infielder could play again.

    Via Scott Merkin of MLB.com:

"I can't tell you that we're going to get him back or we're not," Sizemore said. "I really just don't know. We're checking in daily, hoping for the best and waiting for him to tell us when he's feeling confident that he's not favoring it or worried about anything else."

Moncada was slashing .282 in 11 games before going on the IL. He's a career .254 hitter. Chicago just ended their dreadful 21-game losing streak and two days later, fired manager Pedro Grifol.
