Stephen Curry added to his already lengthy resume on Saturday afternoon with an unbelievable performance in a gold medal victory for Team USA.

Curry scored 24 points on 8-for-13 shooting from beyond the arc, helping the Americans to a 98-87 win over France in the tournament championship. The U.S. has now won an unprecedented five straight gold medals in the event.

In the fourth quarter of the game, Team USA led by just five points with a couple of minutes on the clock. That's when Curry really took over, knocking down four straight threes to put the game out of reach.

When all was said and done, though, it was LeBron James who was named the MVP for Team USA, which has led some fans to show frustration on social media:

For the tournament, Curry averaged 14.8 points per game on nearly 50% shooting from the field. He also had 3 rebounds and 2.5 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, LeBron averaged 14.1 points per game, while adding 6.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists.

To be fair, this could be an instant where numbers in the box score don't tell the whole story. 60 of Curry's 89 points came in the final two games of the tournament, but he averaged just seven points per game before that. Meanwhile, LeBron scored in double figures during every game of the Olympics.

That reasoning wasn't enough for some fans, though.

I'm sure that the gold medal is sweet enough for Curry not to be concerned about missing out on the MVP award in the end. Adding this type of achievement to his resume is more important than anything.
