Jordan Chiles could be at risk of losing her bronze medal from the floor exercise at the Paris Olympics, and another U.S. gymnastics legend is speaking out to show her support.

Chiles had initially finished in fifth place in Monday's floor final, earning a score of 13.666 for her routine. But American coaches filed an inquiry to appeal the score, leading judges to add 0.1 points for her degree of difficulty and launching Chiles into third place.

But the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled on Saturday that the appeal was filed after the one-minute deadline, launching Romania's Ana Barbosu back into third place and putting Chiles' medal at ris,.

After the ruling, former U.S. gymnast Dominique Moceanu took to social media to share her thoughts on the "unfortunate situation." Moceanu, who earned a gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, imported people to consider the emotions that Chiles and the other gymnasts are feeling.

"The recent medal controversy at the Paris Olympics is an unfortunate situation that has taken an emotional toll on many gymnasts due to human errors," Moceanu wrote in a post on X . "While controversies are not new to our sport, it's important to remember that the athletes themselves are the ones who suffer the most in these moments. Let's not lose sight of what truly matters—celebrating the incredible achievements of all Olympians. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance continue to inspire us and make us proud."
