LeBron James Backs Jordan Chiles Amid Olympic Controversy

LeBron James made sure to show his support for his fellow Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles as the latter deals with an ongoing controversy.

On Sunday, Chiles was officially stripped of her Olympic bronze medal in the individual floor exercise event.

The 23-year-old had initially finished fifth in the event but got bumped up to 3rd thanks to an appeal made by U.S. coach Cecile Landi. Chiles' original score of 13.666 got a 0.1 point boost thanks to the appeal, which got her onto the podium ahead of two Romanian competitors.

But the International Olympic Committee later ruled that Landi's appeal came four seconds after the 60-second window allowed to protest a score. Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu was eventually awarded the bronze medal over Chiles.

Nonetheless, the U.S. gymnast got an outpouring of support from fans and fellow athletes online -- including King James.

The U.S. men's basketball star reposted a photo of Chiles from Team USA's official X account that had the caption, "Forever THAT GIRL."

Chiles still took home a gold medal for her efforts in helping U.S. women's gymnastics win the team event.

Just like Chiles, James played a pivotal role in helping Team USA claim gold in men's basketball.

The four-time Olympian had 14 points and led his team with 10 assists in the championship game against France.
