Giants' Top-10 Pick Leaves Practice With Troubling Injury

New York Giants wideout Malik Nabers was forced to leave Sunday's practice with an apparent foot injury.

The No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft exited New York's final team period early to seek treatment from trainers on his left foot, according to Art Stapleton of USA TODAY. He was then seen flexing his foot with an exercise band and walking gingerly around the practice field.

Fortunately, there's optimism that the rookie has avoided significant injury.

"Hearing Giants are hopeful that Malik Nabers is OK and appears to have avoided serious injury to his left foot, per sources," Stapleton reported. "Will likely undergo tests to further determine severity and confirm. But as of now, concern level seems low - high because of who the player is, but low in terms of what it is believed to be."

Nabers was a standout for New York throughout offseason activities and into the first couple weeks of training camp, seemingly earning himself a major role in Brian Daboll's offense as a rookie.

The LSU product didn't receive a target in the Giants' 14-3 win over the Detroit Lions last Thursday to begin the preseason, seeing the field for just 12 snaps.

New York is back in exhibition action on August 17 against the Houston Texans.
