Vikings' Dallas Turner Honors The Late Khyree Jackson Pregame

    By Cole Sullivan,

Minnesota Vikings rookie Dallas Turner made an extremely heartfelt gesture by honoring teammate and fellow draftee Khyree Jackson pregame ahead of the Vikings preseason opener on Saturday. Jackson tragically passed away on July 6th. Just months after being drafted into the NFL .

Jackson would've turned 25 on Sunday and was honored before and throughout the Vikings preseason opener at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Las Vegas Raiders . Jackson's family was in attendance and served as the team's honorary captain.

Turner was teammates with Jackson at Alabama before Jackson transferred to Oregon , which is a key reason as to why the two were so close. They just happened to end up being drafted in the same year to the same team. A moment that was surreal for the both of them, and they should've shared the field Saturday night together.

Jackson passed away alongside two of his high school friends and teammates, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr. The Vikings will be wearing helmet decals with the initials "KJ" throughout the season to honor his passing and his locker will remain untouched.
