Not everyone was thrilled with USA basketball’s 98-87 win over France in the gold-medal game of the 2024 Paris Olympics, especially the host country.

In fact, McDonald’s France is taking the result extremely hard.

So much so, in fact, that the company announced on its Instagram account that it was considering doing away with its popular Curry sauce for the next four years in the aftermath of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry’s 24-point performance that helped seal the U.S.’s fifth straight gold medal.

"For obvious reasons, we are considering removing this sauce," the post reads.

With arguably his best performance of the Olympics in the gold-medal game against France, Curry scored a team-high 24 points along, including eight 3-pointers, to go along with five assists and two steals. He had nearly as many made 3-pointers as the entire French team, which had nine.

Curry was particularly deadly in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter. He hit a 3 with 2:48 left that stretched a 82-79 USA lead to 85-79, and he added three more 3s over the next minute-and-a-half to keep France from pulling off a last-minute rally.
