Blake Griffin Officiated Boston Celtics Player's Wedding

Boston Celtics backup point guard Payton Pritchard is having himself an amazing year, and former NBA star Blake Griffin is now a big part of that.

Back in June, the 26-year-old from Oregon helped lead the Celtics to an NBA Finals win over the Dallas Mavericks, securing his first ring. In July, Pritchard was named to the USA select team and practiced with the Olympic squad to prepare them for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

On Sunday, Pritchard added to his 2024 experience by getting married to social media influencer Emma MacDonald.

Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown was in attendance for the wedding ceremony and posted a video on his Instagram story of Pritchard and MacDonald. To many fans' surprise, Griffin was officiating the wedding.

NBA fans loved the fact that Griffin had a significant role in his former Celtics teammate's big day and took to social media to leave their thoughts.

"Blake of the year," one fan said.

"This is super cool!" added another.

"Blake so real for this," a third commented.

Griffin played with Pritchard on the Celtics for one season in 2022-23. He is mostly known for his time with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he was a six-time All-Star and a five-time All-NBA player.

Pritchard played a small role in Boston's NBA Finals run, but his time on the court was big. He drained two half-court buzzer beaters against the Mavericks, one of which came in Game 5, putting the Celtics up by 21 going into halftime.
