Jayson Tatum's Cryptic Post After Controversial Olympics Is Turning Heads

Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum did not exactly have a memorable 2024 Olympics. At the end of the day, though, the five-time All-Star is still coming home with a gold medal around his neck after the Americans beat France in the final on Saturday, 98-87.

Tatum's role throughout the tournament, however, was minimal -- at least in terms of his time on the floor.

The Celtics talisman logged 11 minutes in the gold medal game on Saturday for two points and three rebounds. In six games played, Tatum had no less than two healthy DNPs (did not play) after he emerged as the odd man out in head coach Steve Kerr's rotation.

The four-time All-NBA forward ended his tournament with averages of 5.3 points , 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, which is far from what fans imagined when the newly-crowned NBA champ was called up to represent the country for the Olympics.

On Sunday night, Tatum took to Instagram to share a tweet that read, "WE WILL AVENGE JAYSON TATUM."

Tatum did not add any caption to his post, which is what makes it so mysterious. It's impossible to read his mind, so there's really no way to tell what type of message the Celtics superstar is trying to send here.

Either way, it appears that Tatum agrees with the notion that something that transpired during the Olympics needs to be "avenged," and odds are, this must have something to do with his lackluster stint in the Paris Games.

The fans on X, formerly Twitter, seem to believe so.

"Yall talking about avenge what he didn’t get a Finals MVP he didn’t get to play in the Olympics…. You really think he doesn’t feel disrespected?" read a comment.

"Kerr should sleep w/ his eyes open," reacted a supporter.

"Doesn’t deserve the disrespect," said a fan.

More than a few fans took this in a much different light as they called Tatum out for supposedly crying over spilled milk.

    "Lmao dude won a chip n a gold medal… what’s there to avenge 😭😭" read a comment.

"This is gonna be a lose lose result," said a fan.

"Dude got a ring and a gold medal, RELAX," a reaction read.

To say that this issue has become one of the most polarizing aspects of Team USA's gold medal run would probably be an understatement at this point.
