Jokes Pouring In After Micah Parsons' Olympic Declaration

Micah Parsons has a plan. Well, maybe he has a plan. After watching the 2024 Olympics, the Dallas Cowboys star is hyped up for the upcoming 2028 LA Olympics. He joked on X that he's looking to try a new sport for the Olympics.

Not even two minutes later, Parsons joked about another plan of his that might make some fans wince. This time, the Cowboys star is saying that he might take the 2027 season off for the 2028 Olympics.

"After 2027 ima take a break from football to prepare for the Olympics !," Parsons posted.

The reactions to this post have been hilarious. Of course, there are the usual jokes about not winning a Super Bowl.

Other fans referenced Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' hesitance in paying his teammates.

Former NFL star Robert Griffin III suggested that Parsons should try playing flag football, which will be part of the 2028 LA Olympics lineup.

And of course, there are the Cowboys fans worried about their star defender ditching the team in a few years.

Parsons, one of the best defenders in the NFL, is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal. That makes him eligible for a contract extension. However, Jones has hesitated to give his teammates CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott a new extension.

That's leading to a lot of anxiety for Cowboys fans, who are worried that the same thing might happen to Parsons in a year.

Last season, Parsons tallied 14 sacks, earning himself second-team All-Pro honors. The Cowboys are hoping that Parsons' Olympic aspirations are truly just jokes and that he's not thinking of leaving... whether it's for a different sport or a different team.
