Georgia football won back-to-back national championships prior to Michigan football's 2023-2024 title, giving Coach Kirby Smart and his players plenty of confidence from past years gone by to draw upon.

The Bulldogs will enter the 2024-2025 season ranked number one in the nation and now Coach Smart's task is to get his players to play up to their lofty ranking throughout the season.

On Saturday, Smart reportedly took his players to task for merely "surviving" in practice.

Smart made the comments to Georgia football boosters, adding that he expected a better performance from his UGA players.

"No one stepped up...Not a lot of leaders today," Smart reportedly said after Saturday's scrimmage.

The Bulldogs are expected to feature quarterback Carson Beck, the preseason favorite for the Heisman Trophy, offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, and safety Malaki Starks among other preseason All-Americans.

Their first game is August 31 against Dabo Swinney's Clemson Tigers at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia.
