The NASCAR world has sparked plenty of controversy on Sunday. In the final lap at Richmond, Austin Dillon turned Joey Logano to take the lead.

Then, Dillon also hooked Denny Hamlin and proceeded to be the first car across the finish line. It was a big victory for Dillon, who entered the race 32nd in the standings and needed the win to stay eligible for the postseason.

Still, causing two cars to crash is a controversial ending, and Hamlin sent a stern message to NASCAR and Dillon after the race ended (h/t Bob Pockrass).

“Where’s the line," Hamlin said. "That’s the thing, we have rules against — to prevent ridiculous acts but it’s been a long time since those rules have really been enforced. It’s tough because this is what the young short track racers see and they think this is OK because they watch the professionals on Sunday that are supposed to act like adults and just do dumb s**t and it’s amazing that it’s allowed.”

It's certainly an unfortunate ending for Logano and Hamlin, and it brings into question whether or not Dillon will get penalized for it.

Logano also spoke about the finish , per Nate Ryan of NBC Sports.

“It’s a joke,” said Logano. "The whole thing’s a joke. I’ve got nothing good to say. What do you want me to do?"

It's certainly going to be a hot topic for the weeks to come, and it will be worth monitoring to see if any discipline is handed down from NASCAR. For now, Hamlin and Logano just want NASCAR to change something in regard to these controversial finishes.
