With the growing impact of NIL on college athletics, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is capitalizing on his athleticism and marketability as he heads into his final season in Boulder.

Sanders, who has the fortune of being the son of the always-relevant Buffs head coach Deion Sanders, is valued at $4.7 million entering this fall. The valuation is estimated through On3's proprietary algorithm, which considers the overall NIL market and projects the athlete’s value up to 12 months into the future.

Sanders tops the nation in On3's NIL valuation list , ahead of viral LSU Tigers gymnast Livvy Dunne, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning and even Sanders' own teammate Travis Hunter.

The majority of Sanders' NIL value comes through the 5430 Alliance , the University of Colorado's athletic-wide NIL collective. The 5430 Alliance's impact has allowed Sanders and many other Colorado athletes to expand their perspective marketability and garner greater NIL potential as a result.

In terms of Sanders' social media presence, the star quarterback has a total following of roughly 2.5 million users across Instagram, TikTok and X (formerly Twitter). This total following comprises of 1.8 million on Instagram , 629.3 thousand on TikTok and 74.7 thousand on X .

Even with the nation's top NIL valuation, Sanders will be tasked with contributing significantly to the Buffaloes' continued rise as the program re-enters the Big 12 conference this fall.

Colorado opens its 2024 season by welcoming the North Dakota State Bison to Folsom Field on Aug. 29, with a kickoff airing on ESPN scheduled for 8:00 pm (ET).
