USA Basketball Coach Steve Kerr Clearly States His Opinion of LeBron James

Steve Kerr has faced off against LeBron James in several NBA Finals matchups. But at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Golden State Warriors coach finally got the opportunity to have The King on his side.

With Kerr at the helm, LeBron led USA Basketball to a gold medal victory behind an Olympic MVP performance.

After Team USA claimed its Olympic title, Kerr was asked about coaching the all-time great basketball superstar.

"LeBron, what a blessing to coach him finally after all these years of coaching against him and trying to figure out how to beat him," Kerr told reporters. "To watch him up close... To see his approach, to see his professionalism, how coachable he is. Then of course how gifted he is at everything. Every part of the game he seems to have mastered.

"I'm thrilled to have been able to coach him these last six weeks. I'm a LeBron fan for life."

LeBron's greatness was on full display throughout USA Basketball's gold medal run. The Los Angeles Lakers forward averaged 14.2 points, 8.5 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game as the United States battled its way to yet another Olympic title.

Kerr's Golden State point guard Steph Curry also played a massive role in Team USA's final two games, raining a barrage of three-point baskets to help take down Serbia and France.

Kerr and LeBron will once again be NBA rivals when James takes the court for his 22nd professional season in 2024-25.
