The New York Knicks made some big moves this offseason in order to contend with the likes of the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference this season.

They will get the chance to see if their moves paid off very early on, as they will match up against the reigning NBA champions in the very first game of the regular season. The game will be played in Boston, as the Celtics will have their ring ceremony celebrating their Finals win.

The dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were the driving force behind the Celtics' fantastic regular season and playoff push. They are both great two-way wings, and that is what the Knicks have valued this offseason.

Their biggest move they made was acquiring Mikal Bridges, who is considered one of the best two-way players in the entire NBA. The team also re-signed OG Anunoby, meaning they have locked up two defensive wings of their own to counteract Tatum and Brown.

The Knicks got beat by the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the playoffs this past season, so they did not get their chance at the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. But if all goes well, that could all change this season.

If the Knicks can beat the Celtics on opening night on the road, then more people would buy in to the fact that they could contend for their first title since 1973.
