Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver Jordan Whittington is special.

It's indescribable what Whittington meant to the Texas football program on and off the field throughout his five-year collegiate career. Now, he has the chance to make the same impact at the professional level.

The Rams selected Whittington with the No. 213 pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. That could turn out to be a massive steal if his NFL preseason debut provided a glimpse of his future.

Whittington made his NFL debut against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday evening. He hauled in six catches for 74 yards and provided tough yards after the catch. Following the game, Rams head coach Sean McVay stated "he's going to be a factor for us," in regards to Whittington's potential impact this season as a rookie.

"He's just a mature rookie. He's so conscientious… You don't see guys on game day until you get to game day and just the look in his eyes — he's a grown man and he played like a grown man with the ball in his hands. Did a great job without it," McVay continued.

Whittington played in all 14 games and made eight starts totaling 42 receptions for 505 yards and one touchdown for the Longhorns in 2023. Although those are not eye-popping statistics, some of Whittington's most clutch moments happened without the ball in his hands.

If he can remain healthy, the sky is the limit for what Whittington can accomplish throughout his NFL career.
