Kevin Durant might have cemented his status as the greatest US men's basketball player of all time. After the 2024 Olympics, the NBA legend has earned his fourth gold medal. That puts him on top as the player with the most gold medals in Olympics men's basketball history.

The burning question now is... will Durant go for number five? The 2028 Olympics will be held in Los Angeles. By that time, Durant will be 39 years old, around the same age as LeBron James today.

While KD has not made any definitive statement, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Team USA has an interest in bringing back the star for 2028.

"I would not rule out KD playing, and I talked with Team USA officials, and they would give him a provisional yes right now," Brian Windhorst on his podcast.

While other big names skipped the Olympics in previous years, Durant has been part of the program since his first appearance in 2012. In that time period, Durant eclipsed Carmelo Anthony as the leading scorer for Team USA in the Olympics.

KD continued his scoring streak in the 2024 Olympics. Playing alongside LeBron James and Stephen Curry, Durant averaged a cool 13.8 points per game, mostly coming off the bench. Unlike the past Olympics, Durant was content to just catch and shoot threes or attack closeouts with his length.
