ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins recently spoke on the Team USA women's basketball gold medal victory in the Paris Olympics. The former NBA star took the time to evaluate one of Team USA's biggest stars, Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson.

Perkins shared high praise for the WNBA MVP frontrunner, given her leadership on the Team USA roster.

Wilson put the United States on her back in the Olympic final, posting a team-high 21 points and 13 rebounds in the 67-66 victory over France.

As she continues to add to her extensive resume in the women's basketball world, stacking accomplishments such as gold medal victories and MVP accolades, Perkins firmly believes that Wilson could eventually become the greatest women's basketball player in the history of the game.

"A'ja Wilson — when it's all said and done and her career's over with — she's gonna be the GOAT in my eyes when it comes to women's basketball," Perkins said. "I believe we got 8-9 more years of watching A'ja dominate the way she's been doing it."

Wilson currently leads the league in points, rebounds, and blocks per game, averaging 27.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game.

She's been in the WNBA since 2018 and has already scriptwrited a Hall of Fame career.

The 28-year-old is a two-time WNBA Champion, two-time MVP, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, and a six-time All-Star. Wilson is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having led the United States to gold in the Tokyo and Paris Games.

While she's in the prime of her career, many believe Wilson could retire right now and already be considered one of the greatest women's basketball players ever.

With Wilson's track record, it's easy to side with Perkins' comment, especially if there are 8-9 years left in the tank, like the ESPN analyst mentioned.
