Bucs WR Wears Red 'No Contact' Jersey in Practice

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned to practice Monday after a preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but some of their receivers are dealing with various injuries.

Ahead of two joint practices with the Jacksonville Jaguars later this week, it's obvious the Bucs are being very cautious with a bunch of players. To start, rookie receiver Jalen McMillan, who has been very active in training camp thus far, was wearing a red non-contact jersey in practice. Head coach Todd Bowles spoke briefly about McMillan.

"He's a little sore," said Bowles. "I didn't want anyone touching him today." McMillan played just a couple of drives for the Bucs but caught two passes for 23 yards.

Receiver Rakim Jarrett , who saw a lot of time in the first preseason game, did not practice at all Monday and Bowles said he was "nursing an injury", but did not say where the injury was. Wide receiver Sterling Shepherd missed most of last week's practice and did not play against the Bengals.

With the joint practices coming up, the Bucs will likely see top receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin getting reps, but both are unlikely to play in the upcoming preseason game. Whereas some of the younger receivers will see a lot of game action, and need to be at full strength.

While you never like to see injuries, the Bucs core pass-catchers look to be in good shape and that's the most important thing as the season approaches.
