The Cincinnati Reds mashed their way to a big win last night to even the season series with the St. Louis Cardinals. Now, on Tuesday, the club has the opportunity to take a series from their NL Central rival for the first time this season.

All-Star and Cy Young candidate Hunter Greene (8-4, 2.90 ERA) takes the hill for his 24th start on the year. He's been strong all year but has been on another level since the beginning of July. Despite a three-run outing in his last start, Greene has a 0.92 ERA over his last six starts (39 innings). In that time, he's struck out 45 batters.

In that stretch, opposing lineups are hitting .124/.226/.155 with just 16 hits, 11 walks, and one home run. He has put his team in the best position to win as well. Over those six games, the Reds were winning in five and tied once (last time out).

Greene's tear was actually kick-started by his 4 2/3 inning start at the end of June where he earned the loss despite only allowing four hits and one run (the Reds lost 2-0).

The Reds lineup looks to be one to be able to provide Greene little support:

    1.) 2B Jonathan India
2.) SS Elly De La Cruz
    3.) C Tyler Stephenson
    4.) CF TJ Friedl
    5.) LF Spencer Steer
    6.) 1B Jeimer Candelario
    7.) DH Ty France
    8.) RF Jake Fraley
    9.) 3B Santiago Espinal
    SP Hunter Greene

The visiting Cardinals will counter with right-handed pitcher, Erick Fedde (8-5, 3.28 ERA). St. Louis acquired Fedde at the trade deadline from the Chicago White Sox. Since joining the club, Fedde has started twice and pitched 10 innings. In that time, he's allowed six runs and 10 hits.

Five of those runs were in a rough first outing where he gave up a pair of home runs to the Chicago Cubs. Fedde has started against the Reds four times in his career and has a 6.05 ERA. In his last outing against the Reds in 2022, he allowed four hits off seven runs in 4 2/3 innings with the Washington Nationals.

The Cardinals lineup will look to improve upon its five-hit performance from last night:

    1.) SS Masyn Winn
    2.) DH Alec Burleson
    3.) C Willson Contreras
    4.) 3B Nolan Arenado
    5.) LF Brendan Donovan
    6.) 1B Paul Goldschmidt
    7.) RF Lars Nootbaar
    8.) 2B Nolan Gorman
    9.) CF Victor Scott II
    SP Erick Feddes
