Bombshell Revelation About Jordan Chiles' Appeal Panel Will Further Infuriate Team USA

Jordan Chiles has inadvertently found herself in quite a bit of controversy after the International Olympic Committee said she would have to hand over her bronze medal from the women's artistic floor exercise event at the 2024 Olympics.

While Chiles' coaches correctly challenged that her score should be higher, which initially gave her the bronze medal, it was revealed that the challenge came in too late, leading to the IOC saying she needed to give up the medal.

The situation has been enraging for a handful of reasons, but a bombshell revelation made things even worse on Tuesday evening. Documents showed that the Court of Arbitration for Sport panel that ruled against Chiles has longstanding ties to Romania, which implies there may have been bias in their ruling.

Romanian teammates Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea tied for fourth place behind Chiles, so they would obviously stand to benefit from the score change not being approved.

Fans quickly cried foul once finding out this infuriating information, as they believe that the panel's ties to Romania led them to rule against Chiles so that the country would have more Olympic medals.

This is just more evidence that this whole situation has been handled poorly, and it will be interesting to see what twists and turns follow as this situation moves forward.
