Simone Biles’ Husband to Honor Her with New Interception Celebration

Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens’ social media pages are packed with tributes to his wife Simone Biles, so it should come as no surprise that he plans to salute his 11-time Olympic medalist wife if he nabs an interception this season.

In a video sneak peak of the new episode of “Hard Knocks” posted by NFL Films, Owens showed off his new celebration to his teammates during a recent training camp practice after getting back from Paris where he watched Biles compete in several Olympic events.

The salute Owens mentioned was in reference to a pose by Biles to the judges during the women’s floor final, in which she won silver behind Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade.

The gesture was a bit satirical on Biles’ part after she was penalized during the balance beam final for not saluting the judges, prompting her to hold her salute from the time she finished her routine all the way to walking off the mat — which Owens was in full support of.

Biles won three gold medals (team, all-around and vault) plus one silver (floor exercise) in Paris, bringing her Olympic medal total to 11 with seven golds.
