Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan will reportedly seek a second opinion on a triceps injury he suffered in his most recent start last week.

The right-hander will seek a second opinion in the coming days, according to SKOR North's Declan Goff.

Ryan exited the game early on Wednesday due to right triceps tightness against the Chicago Cubs and was subsequently placed on the 15-day injured list with what Twins manager Rocco Baldelli described as a Grade 2 teres major strain.

Baldelli initially expressed confidence that the injury wasn't serious but it was later learned that the injury could require anywhere from weeks to months of recovery.

Ryan is 7-7 with a 3.60 ERA this season, striking out 147 batters in 135 innings with a 0.99 WHIP.

In other Twins injury news, Goff also reported that Brooks Lee is continuing to work on fielding drills while he works his way back from biceps tendinitis. He's been on the 10-day IL since Friday. However, Goff added that Lee hasn't been hitting much.

During the broadcast Tuesday night in the Twins' 13-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals, it was stated that Byron Buxton's MRI came back negative and he's day-to-day with hip discomfort.

Minnesota's center fielder left the game early Monday night against Kansas City after striking out in the fifth inning. He also missed three games last week.
