Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are preparing to play in their first game in nearly one month on Thursday. The WNBA's hiatus for the 2024 Paris Olympics gave players and teams a chance to recoup for the second half of the season, but it seems Reese is tired of waiting.

The rookie took to social media to send Chicago Sky fans an excited message before the return to the season.

"1 more sleep and we backkkk SKY FANS," Reese said.

WNBA fans were just as ecstatic as Reese, blowing up the comments on the Sky forward's post. Reese's statement already has over 130 comments and 10k views, less than 20 minutes into its release.

"Let's go chi town Barbie!!!!!," said one fan.

"Keep that double double energy going," said another fan.

"We finally get to see the best player in basketball history back on the court," commented another fan.

Reese has quickly become one of the most beloved players in the WNBA despite having been in the league for just a few months.

She's not just a star on the court. Reese has over eight million combined followers on Instagram, TikTok, and X.

The first-year star is also competing for the WNBA's Rookie of the Year award, most notably facing the accolades of Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

Reese has averaged 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, while Clark has averaged 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game.

The rookie will look to boost her chances at the Rookie of the Year award when the season resumes in Chicago on Thursday where Angel Reese and the Sky will host the Phoenix Mercury at 8 p.m. ET.
