Although Rudy Gobert and Team France failed to get the job done at the 2024 Paris Olympics, he still is beaming with pride about what he and Le Bleus accomplished in the men’s basketball tournament in the Summer Games. A silver medal still shines like gold for Gobert, who was part of the French squad that lost to Steph Curry and Team USA in the finals.

In a post via his Instagram account, Gobert shared his gratitude to everyone who supported France.

“Proud of my brothers, no gold around the neck, but an adventure and lessons that are worth more than gold,” Gobert said in French. “Thank you France, thank you all for the love and support. The journey continues… 🙏🏽❤️🔒.”

Gobert’s girlfriend, Julia Bonilla, commented on the Minnesota Timberwolves big man’s post to show her support for him.

"Very, very proud!!!!," she wrote in French.

Winning silver amid a stacked field is definitely nothing to be ashamed of for Team France. But Gobert probably could have done more. A finger injury reportedly prevented him from getting more minutes on the floor, as he averaged just 14.2 minutes per game while producing only 7.0 points and 4.0 rebounds through six games.

With the Olympics over, Gobert can take some rest before turning his attention to preparing for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
