Bills Announce Weekend to Celebrate Championship Anniversary

While many young fans are still waiting to see the Buffalo Bills win their first championship, some are still around to celebrate the team's pre-NFL accolades.

The Buffalo Bills Alumni Foundation has just announced that they will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the team's American Football League championship in 1964 with an alumni weekend. The event, held on the opening weekend of the 2024 regular-season, will bring the old team together with fans to celebrate, with the goal to help raise money for local charities.

Members of the championship team along with other past Bills players will attend the weekend. The players will also attend the Bills' season opener against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 8. There will also be a gala on the Friday where fans who buy tickets can meet some Bills alumni and bid on items in a silent auction.

At the recent announcement of the event, some Bills alumni shared their thoughts on the new Bills stadium currently being built, including David White, former linebacker and President of the foundation.

"I'm extremely excited about it, a new state-of-the-art stadium, something that we can we can brag about and not hear so much about Jerry's World and some of the other stadiums," said White. "I'm hoping we don't lose our advantage, that weather is still an advantage for us, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with in this new stadium."

Fans can purchase tickets to the events of the weekend now, before it kicks off on Sept. 6.
