Charles Barkley's commitment to Turner Sports can be measured in nine figures.

The NBA great turned commentator said in an appearance on “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” on August 12 that he left “at minimum $100 million” when he decided to return to Turner Sports instead of taking another contract.

Despite uncertainty over whether TNT would lose NBA media rights after the 2024-25 season, Barkley said he decided to return so that the cast and crew at TNT would keep their jobs.

“The No. 1 thing for me is my people at Turner get to keep their jobs for at least another year, that’s all I was concerned with,” Barkley said.

Fans were split on Barkley's decision. Some praised the commentator for keeping his values despite having larger job offers.

"Barkley only needs so much money but his happiness means most to him plus he loves his fellow coworkers," one person shared on X.

Others commended the decision, noting that Barkley is part of a great broadcasting team at Turner Sports.

"He isnt worth that money without the turner team and that show, so he is doing the right thing. I hope they have a great final season!!!" another fan wrote.

But some questioned whether he really received a new contract offer at leaast $100 million greater than what he received at Turner Sports.

Barkley's commitment to Turner Sports may not be forever. In an August 8 appearance on the "Dan Patrick Show," Barkley said he may still leave TNT sometime in the future.

"The reason I'm staying at TNT is so that people can keep their jobs. That does not mean I'm going to stay there forever, I can promise you that," Barkley said. "I'm just happy a lot of people at Turner will keep their jobs."
