    No Sympathy for Warriors

    By Lance Roberson,

    2024-08-16

AUG 16 LONG ROAD AHEAD Although the Golden State Warriors missed the 2024 playoffs, the NBA schedule-makers pulled no punches early in the 2024-25 season. Last season, the Warriors ended with 46, wins, but were knocked out of the Play-In Tournament by the Sacramento Kings.

If the Warriors truly want to contend, they must hit the gate running. The Stephen Curry led-franchise has the fourth-hardest strength of schedule in the months of October and November, regarding the teams who competed in the 2024 playoffs and Play-In Tournament.

Six of the Warriors 10 games feature 2024 playoff teams. Nine of 14 games in November pit teams with at least a .500 record or above against the Warriors.

AUG 14 FINDING MOTIVATION The Golden State Warriors possibly found a diamond in the dirt in Brandin Podziemski, the 19th-overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. As a late first-round pick, Podziemski finised on the All-Rookie team, and started 28 games for the 46-win Warriors roster. After reports implicated Podziemski as the "guard of the future, his confidence is on cloud nine.

An X account (formerly known as Twitter), listed its prediction for the 2028 Team USA roster. Podziemski took exception to the list, as it exluded the "guard of the future." The Warriors guard responded to the tweet with a shoulder-shrugging emoji and a an emoji symbolzing Podziemski taking notes as to say, "I'll remeber this tweet".
