Connor Stalions Lands New Coaching Job After Michigan Scandal

The Michigan Wolverines have been the subject of much criticism for the past year. The big reason is due to the sign-stealing scandal involving former staff member Connor Stalions.

Stalions was spotted on the sidelines of a game between Eastern Michigan and Michigan State while wearing Eastern Michigan gear and disguising himself. Recent investigations confirmed that it was Stalions on the Eastern Michigan sidelines.

However, despite all of that, Stalions has reportedly landed a new coaching job. Stalions has become the new defensive coordinator at Detroit Mumford High School.

Detroit Mumford's head coach, William McMichael, announced the news to The Detroit News on Thursday (h/t David Goricki).

“I got the most hated man in college football right now, Connor Stalions,” McMichael said. “He’s my defensive coordinator.”

It is a new journey for Stalions after everything that happened in Michigan.

While having Stalions on the staff could be distracting given the circumstances, McMichael admitted he isn't worried about it.

“I’m not worried about it,” McMichael said. “What happened with the NCAA doesn’t concern us here at Mumford. He comes here every day and gives 120%, and the kids all love him and we’re all learning from him.”

Mumford is coming off back-to-back 1-8 seasons, so they are trying to do whatever it takes to turn things around.

Regarding the sign-stealing scandal, Netflix is set to release an episode about Stalions in its Untold series with a segment titled 'Sign Stealer.' The episode will focus on Stalions' perspective of the incident, with him speaking publicly about the situation for the first time.

For now, Connor Stalions will be coaching the defense at Detroit Mumford High School in a new chapter.
